Keeping with the Web Full Circle tradition of giving back to critical local organizations, on May 19, 2008, Web Full Circle sponsored the Hospice of Union County Golf Tournament also known as the Griffin Motor Golf Tournament and Silent Auction. The successful Golf Tournament and Silent Auction raised $102,905.00 for Hospice of Union County. The scope of the event can be better understood by noting that during the past eleven years of this annual event the donations made to Union County Hospice have exceeded $764,000.
Hospice of Union County provides services to those who are terminally ill along with their families in order to preserve those individuals’ dignity, choices and control during their illness. Services are provided to individuals in the following North Carolina counties: Union, Mecklenburg, Anson, Cabarrus and Stanly Counties.
Among the services provided by the Union County Hospice are support assistance from social workers, spiritual care, in-home care, including home visits by nurses and specially trained caregivers, visits from trained volunteers, 24 hour a day on call Registered Nursing and Chaplain visits.
Each year the Union County Hospice bridges a funding gap which ranges from $250,000 to $350,000. Events like the Griffin Motor Golf Tournament and Silent Auction are critical in bridging such funding gaps in order to ensure continuity of services.
